Our Mission
From the lens to real change
Chăm does more than record images of the natural world. We make documentaries built to shift public understanding, support conservation policy and change behaviour on the ground. Combining an international cinematic language with deep local ecological knowledge, we carry the voices of scientists, forest rangers and buffer-zone communities out to the world.
Every project begins with several patrols before the camera is switched on for the first time. The script takes shape while working alongside researchers and conservation officers — it is not written in an edit suite and then carried into the forest looking for illustrations. And when the film is finished, we bring it back to screen for the very community that appears in it.
What We Make
Three ways Chăm tells a story
Every project we take on follows one of these three threads — or weaves all three together.

Filming Standards
Respecting habitat & wildlife
At Chăm Film, how we film matters as much as what ends up on screen. We follow international ethical guidelines for natural history filmmaking to the letter. Nothing staged, nothing provoked, no baiting to force an animal to behave the way we want. Distance is kept with infrared camera traps, 600mm telephoto lenses and noise-reduced drones — whatever can be reached from far away is never approached up close. At the first sign of stress in an animal, the crew stops rolling, even if it is the moment we have waited weeks for. Before release, GPS coordinates of endangered species are stripped from the film. No shot is beautiful enough to be worth handing poachers a map.

Connected Capability
Understanding nature in the field
The best shots usually come after days of waiting in silence. That is why we invest in people and equipment that can hold out in the field for the long haul.
Our production team has worked alongside international crews and journalists, and knows the workflows and technical standards of broadcasters like the BBC and National Geographic. Just as important is the network built over years with national parks, reserves, research institutes and the communities living in the buffer zones — something no budget can buy, only time can build.
On equipment, we carry cinema cameras, macro and long telephoto lenses, directional field recording systems and dedicated night-filming rigs.
